Wrangler expands his relationship with country star and former rodeo cowboy Cody Johnson.
The singer has been an ambassador for the brand for several years and is now collaborating with the company to create a line of Western-inspired shirts under the name Wrangler x Cody Johnson. Johnson announced the launch of the collection at the CMA Fest in Nashville in June.
“Cody has been with the brand for many years. He wears Wrangler every day. Given his authentic background in ranching and rodeo, collaborating with him on this classic shirt collection was a natural next step,” said Allen Montgomery, Vice President and General Manager of Wrangler Western. “His signature style and genuine connection to the Western lifestyle make this collection stand out in a market where we are already receiving a lot of excitement and enthusiasm.”
Johnson, nicknamed CoJo, worked closely on the collection’s design, selecting fabrics, patterns and functionality in consultation with the Wrangler team. The shirts feature a classic tailored fit, angled cuffs, hidden button-down collars, signature CoJo details such as cuff embroidery, logo buttons and grosgrain ribbon at the neck.
“These shirts are designed to make you feel like a cowboy and look like a million bucks,” said Johnson. “I put a lot of time and heart into every detail and trusted Wrangler to help create something authentically western and effortlessly stylish.”
The shirts will be available on the Wrangler website and at select retailers nationwide for $59.99. The collection will expand to include jeans and snap shirts in fall 2025.
The Texas-born singer rode bulls professionally at local rodeos before pursuing a career in country music. Johnson signed with Warner Music Nashville in 2018 after releasing six independent albums over the course of a decade and becoming a star in the Texas music scene. He has since released two albums on Warner Music, “Ain’t Nothin’ to It” in January 2019 and “Human: The Double Album” in October 2021. His hit single “Til You Can’t” won 2022 Single of the Year from the Country Music Association.
In addition to Johnson, Wrangler sponsors a number of country musicians, including Lainey Wilson, Jon Pardi and George Strait, whose collection was launched at Wrangler more than two decades ago.
