Public relations The firm representing Travis Kelce said it was considering legal action after a “false and fabricated” press release surfaced online describing the impending split between the football star and Taylor Swift.
A photo of the allegedly leaked document — “Comprehensive Media Plan for Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Post-Breakup Relationship” — first surfaced on Reddit earlier this week, claiming a late September split between the couple. The letterhead of Full Scope Public Relations, the firm representing Kelce, also appeared on the document.
In a statement on Thursday to PeopleFull Scope stated emphatically that the “Comprehensive Media Plan” was a fake, prepared by unknown persons.
“These documents are completely forged and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorized by this agency,” a Full Scope spokesperson said. “We have instructed our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or companies responsible for the unlawful and damaging forgery of documents.”
(The Reddit post that first shared the fake document has since been deleted. Fans online are now speculating that the “comprehensive media plan” may have been an overzealous fan’s school project.)
The fake document coincidentally arrived just days before the Kansas City Chiefs’ opening game of the 2024 season on Thursday night, which Swift will reportedly attend. The singer was also recently featured prominently in the NFL’s commercial for the upcoming season.
Swift was also a frequent topic in Kelce’s interviews ahead of the NFL season, with the tight end Rich Eisen Show just a few days ago, Swift even came up with potential offensive moves. “She was just so open to learning the game, she didn’t know much about the rules or anything… I think she was just curious about the profession,” he said. “I know none of the plays have reached Coach (Andy) Reid yet, but if they ever do, I’ll make sure everyone knows it was her invention.”
