Taylor Swift is officially in the building.
When the 2024 NFL season began on September 5, all eyes were on Swift as she arrived at Arrowhead Stadium to continue supporting the Kansas City Chiefs and her boyfriend, tight end Travis Kelce.
Reporters at the stadium showed videos of Swift’s arrival at the game.
“Hi, how are you guys?” she asks in a video.
Swift wears a denim corset with matching denim shorts and red over-the-knee boots. Her hair is curly and she wears her signature red lipstick.
As the team begins its attempt to win its third consecutive Super Bowl against the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium, many fans were interested in whether the “Blank Space” singer would be in attendance and where she might be in the crowd.
When asked by TODAY’s Craig Melvin where Swift would sit for kickoff, Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said he didn’t even know.
“No, it’s always a little surprise, but I’m sure the TV cameras will find them,” he said in the third hour of TODAY on September 5.
However, when the game began, Swift was seen sitting next to his father, Ed Kelce, cheering on her friend.
She was later seen giving someone a thumbs up in the distance while surrounded by other Chiefs fans, friends and family.
Later in the game, the “Bad Blood” singer switched places and was seen cheering on Travis Kelce along with his mother, Donna Kelce.
Swift was a major presence at Chiefs games last season, making her first appearance when the team hosted the Chicago Bears in September 2023. The Grammy winner attended a total of 13 games last season and her impact on the Chiefs was profound, prompting new people to cheer for her.
“It surprised us. When she showed up at the first game against the Chicago Bears, our fans went crazy,” Hunt said.
“And it certainly has an impact on our fan base. We have a lot more female fans now, especially young female fans.”
Hunt said he was “thrilled” with Swift and Kelce’s relationship, adding that he attended Swift’s concert at Arrowhead Stadium before last season, mentioning Kelce’s failed attempt to meet her at that show. Swift has also become an integral part of the team, even designing plays.
Hunt said he had heard that talk, but noted that all decisions about plays were made by head coach Andy Reid.
“Andy had fun with it and Andy is very open-minded because players bring him plays, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Travis brings Andy a play, maybe Taylor has something to do with it. But Andy likes to say he has 51% control,” he joked.
You can watch the Chiefs and Ravens face off starting at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. (Peacock is part of TODAY.com’s parent company, NBCUniversal.)
