This week at the Venice Film Festival, Hollywood stars and up-and-coming talents are showcasing their hard work on and off the screen. Celebrities not only appreciate artistic talent, they embody it, too. One standout example is actress Taylor Russell, who captivates the internet with her stunning vintage looks on the red carpet.
These looks are memorable for all the right reasons, from the fit to the subtle styling that gives her a modern look. Her first outfit that immediately caught our attention was a skirt set with a futuristic cut at the chest of the blazer, designed by John Galliano from his Spring/Summer 1995 collection. A similar suit by Galliano is valued at over $20,000 on eBay, so we can only imagine how much it would cost to get it now that Russell has worn it.
Her stylist Jahleel Weaver executed this look with great attention to detail. Comparing this outfit to the original runway look, you can see that her shoes are modern, pointy-toe mesh pumps with a tie detail. This silhouette and mesh material are currently on trend. These details, along with the nipped-in waist and small cutouts on the inside of the arms, were a fashion dream.
Her next look, also styled by Weaver, was from Chanel’s 1993 Haute Couture show. The dress had a bridal feel, with a playful lace puff at the waist that created a slight V-shape and a long train that fell down the back. The bodice was the highlight, with clear boning and floral appliqués at the bust. The dress was both angelic and sensual, creating a heavenly harmony.
We can expect Russell to make another splash with another stunning red carpet appearance, either at the Venice Film Festival or elsewhere. We’ll be watching closely, as Weaver’s brilliant styling and Russell’s graceful demeanor make for a perfect combination.
