The ten-year-old Kennedy Coke is a significant Swiftie. “We only talk about Taylor Swift,” her mother says (quote via Your Tango).
In that respect, she’s like many little girls, but Kennedy is also a cancer patient. When she was just two years old, she was diagnosed with a rare form of lung cancer. She’s been in and out of remission since then, but the family recently received some unfortunate news.
Her symptoms are due to a genetic mutation which unfortunately triggered another cancer: this time a very aggressive form of uterine cancer.
Kennedy had to undergo a hysterectomy and is currently undergoing 12 weeks of chemotherapy. Mama described her rollercoaster health story in a TikTok video explaining how bad She wants to see Taylor Swift live in concert and her mother asks her to help her get there.
Coincidentally, Swift’s Eras Tour will return to the United States when Kennedy finishes chemotherapy in the fall.
Kennedy’s mother also started a GoFund Me campaign in hopes that she and her child can see Swift at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis in November.
Strangers did it. To date, Kennedy’s fund has raised $16,000. Mom was so excited that she had to capture the moment she told her daughter the news on camera.
She’s going on the Eras Tour! Watch the touching moment below:
Thanks to the kindness of strangers, Coke and her parents are able to fly to Indianapolis, stay in a hotel and see Swift live in concert.
