EXCLUSIVE: Shooting on the action film starring Samuel L. Jackson and Joel Kinnaman is scheduled to begin in Spain on September 4 The Beast.
The film’s title refers to a presidential limousine nicknamed “The Beast” by the Secret Service. In the film, a militia of unknown enemies coordinates a coup against the United States, and the President (Jackson) uncovers the extent of the Beast’s top-secret attack capabilities.
Guy Burnet (Oppenheimer) joins the cast as the main opponent of Jackson’s president. Filming is set to take place in the Canary Islands and Madrid.

Keith Kjarval (coming soon tin soldier) produces under his name Unified Pictures together with Wayne Marc Godfrey (Wind River) and Nicki Cortese (Ricky Stanicky) for Bright White Light, who also finance the film. Fifth season (Ambulance), John Logan Pierson (It ends with us) and Peter Berg (Sole survivor) also produce. Distribution is handled by WME Independent.
Alexis Garcia, Chase Vergari, Ibrahim Mohammed, Chris Bremble, Dru Davis and Christian Juptner are executive producers alongside Matthew Cohen, Andrew Kottlier and Jeremie Guiaraud for MEP Capital; Molly C. Quinn, Matthew M. Welty and Elan Gale for QWGmire; Gianni Benvenuto, Dominic Benvenuto and Paul Currie for Marksx Media; and Herbert L. Kloiber and James Copp for Night Train Media. Aleems is also an EP; as is Ben Ruffman for Unified Pictures. Orca 3 and Nostromo’s Adrian Guerra are co-producers.
Burnet is best known for Amazon series The feed and Starz’s Counterpartas well as films like Oppenheimer — in which he played the controversial academic George Eltenton — and PitchPerfect 3.
