Shortly before its centennial celebration, Nevada County Country Club announced the appointment of Creek Scott as the club’s new General Manager.
Scott has lived in the You Bet Road area for four years and has spent the majority of his career in the golf business, including more than 20 years in management and as a PGA golf professional. In his new role, he will draw on his extensive experience in the golf and hospitality industries to enhance the golf experience for members and the public alike.
Scott is a native of Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State University. Before entering the golf industry, he lived in Taos, New Mexico and operated a restaurant. He spent the majority of his career in Houston, Texas, where he owned and operated his own golf course for 10 years and held interests in seven restaurants. He also has experience in golf course merchandising with several golf courses.
With local friends, he discovered Nevada County, settled there, and learned about NCCC. When the opportunity arose, he jumped at the chance to join the club. He will focus on membership, customer service, promotions, and marketing. Scott has already implemented extended hours and keeps the club open until sunset daily to provide additional opportunities for the public to enjoy golf and the club.
NCCC board chairman David Heppe said Scott will focus on club management while Paul Miernicki will continue as a professional teacher.
Founded in 1926, Nevada County Country Club will celebrate its centenary in two years.
It is a semi-private club located on East Main Street, but is also open to the public seven days a week. Members and guests enjoy the swimming pool during the summer months. The full bar and retail shop are open daily from 7:00 a.m. to sunset.
