In Chapter 3 of Black Myth: Wukongone of your objectives is to defeat the boss called Captain Wise-Voice, a giant beast inside a shrine. This Yaoguai king is one of four bosses you must defeat to progress in the game’s story. This enemy can be difficult to defeat because he has a lot of health and you’re fighting him in a tight space.
As you explore Chapter 3 and gain better equipment and transformations in Black Myth: WukongYou will meet Captain Wise-Voice in the Mani Wheel Shrine. This monument is located in the Pagoda Kingdom, at the end of a narrow rocky path in the mountain area. The boss will stalk the small room in the shrine and attack once you enter its territory.
How to prepare for the voice of Captain Wise
Bring something shockproof
Many of Captain Wise-Voice’s attacks are imbued with elemental lightningso that the boss cause the state of shock with certain movements. Shock is one of the more dangerous status states in Black Myth: Wukonglike it causes you to take more damage from attacks. If you don’t have a shock heal, you’ll have a hard time staying alive throughout the fight.
By upgrading your gourd, drinks or baths, your base healing can be changed to also heal shock for the fight against Wise-Voice. Alternatively, you can also Spend Mind Cores to permanently increase your shock resistance with the NPC Xu Dog. The Heavenly Medicine that gives you this permanent buff may be expensive, but you should have enough materials to purchase it by the time you reach Chapter 3.
Some upgrades to your pumpkin can help you heal from shock, but at the cost of less health recovery. Adjust your healing methods wisely in preparation for this boss.
It does not matter if you challenge Captain Wise-Voice before or after any of the other Yaoguai Kings in Chapter 3. You Don’t make this fight easier or harder by facing other bosses in this part of the story, so tackle them in the order you want.
How to defeat Captain Wise-Voice (Phase 1)
Target acquisition and avoidance of physical attacks
This fight can be frustrating as you approach Captain Wise-Voice, as the creature’s size takes up almost the entire screen. The camera will constantly move unless you Fix the boss to make it easier to hit. As you can see in KingAlexHD’s YouTube video above, the boss’s front or back legs are the best places to target, as you can target these with enough pressure to stagger the creature.
If you attack the boss’s feet long enough and land multiple heavy attacks, the creature will fall. Use this opportunity to target the creature’s golden core while it is stunned for a short time.
You must Build focus with different viewpoints in Black Myth: Wukong that are fast enough to react to the boss’s attacks. Thrust Stance is great for this boss fight because the attacks of this style are fast and can help you stay agile while hitting Wise-Voice. Long-range attacks can also help you Beat the boss’s golden headwhich acts as a weak point that can be hit to cause more damage.

How to defeat Captain Wise-Voice (Phase 2)
Watch for new, evolved attacks
Most of Captain Wise-Voice’s moves remain the same as his health decreases, but Many moves gain new properties when you bring the creature below 50% HP. Any Lightning-infused move will now cause Shock faster, so make sure you are ready to heal the condition quickly. At this point, you should consider unpacking some powerful spells to Black Myth: Wukong to stand up to the boss.
Immobilize is one of the best spells you can use against Captain Wise-Voice while he is staggered, as it allows you to freeze the boss to give you more options to attack his weak point, the Golden Core.

Getting hit by this grapple will enter a cutscene with unavoidable damage, so run away from the boss when you see his feet glow. |
Captain Wise voice must charge his strongest electric attacks in phase 2so you have time to adjust if you make mistakes.
