While the crew of the Astral Express looks towards their new destination, the HSR development team is not yet finished with Penacony. In a new Honkai Star Rail Interview With the September issue of Famitsu magazine, we learn some funny anecdotes about the world of festivals and get some hints about what to expect in the future.
The interview is conducted between the Famitsu team and the developers at Hoyo and covers everything about updates 2.0 to 2.3, including the stories of characters like Honkai Star Rail Firefly and Honkai Star Rail Acheron.
When discussing the Acheron and Honkai Star Rail Welt meeting, the developers confirm that everyone’s favorite healer, Luocha, will be returning to the story and getting an expansion to his story. This is exciting since we barely know anything about him and, much like Welt, he is a character that appears in Honkai Impact 3rd (albeit under the name Otto). Acheron is also an overarching character since he is also named Raiden – just like Raiden Shogun from Genshin Impact and Raiden Mei from Honkai 3rd.
Another key moment of the interview is the discussion of Honkai Star Rail Robin’s song. When she uses her ultimate move, she starts singing her signature song, which overrides the initial battle music for the duration of her buff. The development team suggests that her move may receive an update in the future – this probably won’t change the effects, but may add the ability to change or mute her song. After all, it gets a little boring if you use it multiple times in one battle.
The interview also touches on whether Blade needs to renew his driver’s license – after many players (myself included) were surprised to see him behind the wheel of a car. It turns out that as a Stellaron Hunter, he doesn’t need to renew his license. Let’s be honest, he probably doesn’t even have one.
The last tidbit I noticed is that the team seems to be hinting that we won’t be seeing the Annihilation Gang again. You know, the group that got a full introductory trailer with names and voice actors, only to be blown up off-screen during the Penacony events? The team may be keeping quiet, but we’re sure to see these characters pop up again.
We highly recommend checking out the full issue, which you can buy digitally here at BookWalker or purchase from Amazon JP. The interview talks a lot about Honkai Star Rails Argenti, Penacony, and all things Honkai Star Rail Aventurine.
