“I think we should flow out like a river.” 🌊 Studiocanal has released a teaser trailer for a thriller series titled Families like oursthe latest creation from the celebrated Danish filmmaker Thomas Vinterberg (Director of The hunt, Far away from the hustle and bustle, The commune, Another round). This film will premiere at the 2024 Venice Film Festival in the Series section; made by a filmmaker who has appeared in feature films many times. In a not-too-distant future, Denmark is facing a complete evacuation due to rising water levels (climate change will definitely affect everyone, whether we like it or not). As the entire nation of about 6 million prepares to leave their homeland, high school student Laura must choose between her divorced parents and the boy she has fallen in love with. It’s a turnaround on the refugee crisis the world is already experiencing – what if rich, white people from Denmark had to leave their homes and move to other countries? What would happen? Families like oursalso known as Families Who Liveis a miniseries conceived and written by Danish authors Bo Mr. Hansen (from Wild Witch, Harz, Erna at War, A Happy Man“nonsense”) & Thomas Vinterberg (Director of The third lie, Everything is about love, Dear Wendy, When a man comes home, Submarine, The hunt, Far away from the hustle and bustle, The commune, Kursk, Another round). All 7 episodes are also directed by Thomas Vinterberg. The series is produced by Zentropa Ent. (Sisse Graum Jørgensen, Kasper Dissing), with StudioCanal (Ron Halpern, Anna Marsh), CANAL+ (Olivier Bibas, Morgane Perrolier, Louise Gigon) and TV 2 Denmark (Jennifer Green, Katrine Vogelsang). The series is currently premiering at the Venice Film Festival 2024. Studiocanal will be the Families like ours Series streaming soon on Canal+ in France and TV2 in Denmark.
